A little background information first - I’m a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Personal Trainer with 7+ years in the health and fitness industry. I am a food lover, nature admirer, kitty lover, and nutrition advocate for all. But most importantly, an RDN who is passionate about helping people build a healthy relationship with food, and themselves.

Continuing on with my history- Before I became an RDN, I trained at a variety of local gyms where I had the pleasure of learning from some of the best (and worst) in the industry. Being active in sports and recreational actives all my life, I developed a passion for helping people move and fuel their bodies to feel and perform their best. Though I’ve certainly had my own food struggles throughout my life, I’ve learned ways to overcome these obstacles from an intuitive, and compassionate place. Working in the health and fitness industry has exposed me to the devastating effects of chronic dieting and/or under-fueling, especially in athletes. As an RDN who has experienced the many negative effects of dieting, I have made it my mission to help you break free of diet rules by restoring trust back in your body, and food choices.

More about my education- While studying for my Bachelor of Health Science Degree at Cleveland State University, I worked as a trainer and group fitness instructor. After completing my undergraduate degree, I received a Master of Science in Clinical Dietetics and Nutrition from Kent State University, where I became involved in professional academics, community outreach, and research. During this time, I also published a Master’s Thesis called, ‘Knowledge, Perception, and Use of the Ketogenic Diet In College Students at a Midwestern University,’ where various metabolic processes are explored and FAD-diet health concerns are addressed. In conjunction with my own research, I worked in the microbiology department studying the effects of diet manipulation on rat metabolism (cool stuff, right?). You now have full permission to call me a nerd (and I’m totally cool with it). Soon after graduation, I completed my Dietetic Internship with Be Well Solutions where I developed a deeper love for individualized nutrition and wellness coaching. Soon after passing the Dietitian Licensure Exam, I followed my calling and opened my private practice.

And here we are! Now that you know more about my history, it’s time to talk about what I can do for you today.

Chiropractic was everything that Dr. Christina Schmidt never knew she needed.

Although she was always drawn to the intricacies of the human body and helping others, the realm of chiropractic was never on her radar until she experienced it for herself. As an undergraduate student at Life University in Marietta, GA, she found herself having access to chiropractic care for the first time - and utilizing it consistently ultimately changed the trajectory of her life.

Prior to transferring to Life University, Dr. Schmidt attended Notre Dame College in South Euclid as a dual-sport athlete, competing in soccer and rugby. Having wrestled in high school, prominent people in her life began to suggest she transfer to Life University and join the college’s first women’s wrestling team. After some deliberation and intuitive guidance, she decided to make the leap and moved to Georgia to start her new adventure!

As a student-athlete at Life, she started getting chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis, and noticed many changes in her body’s ability to function. She began recovering faster from both physical activity and illness. Her athletic performance improved, and she was able to achieve two All-American finishes at the U.S. Senior Open in freestyle wrestling. Having always previously struggled with immune function, frequently experiencing recurrent ear infections, strep throat, bronchitis from childhood and into her early twenties, she noticed that she was rarely getting sick. She started realizing that there was something more to chiropractic than just helping with neck pain, low back pain or headaches. It was through this, and many other experiences that she discovered she was meant to be a chiropractor - to facilitate transformation in the lives of others through chiropractic, as many amazing chiropractors did for her.

Dr. Schmidt earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (2017) and Doctor of Chiropractic degree (2020) from Life University. While in chiropractic college, she spent three seasons as the graduate assistant wrestling coach in Life’s women’s wrestling program. Since graduation, she has completed extensive education in pediatric and prenatal chiropractic care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and is certified in Webster technique through the ICPA as well. She utilizes a variety of high and low force chiropractic adjustment techniques to address the unique needs of each person that she cares for. Dr. Schmidt is passionate about helping others discover their body’s innate ability to heal, function and thrive by optimizing the health of the nervous system through chiropractic!

Outside of the office, Dr. Schmidt enjoys assisting various youth wrestling programs with goals of expanding opportunities for kids. She has recently teamed up with Beat the Streets - Cleveland, a local chapter of the national non-profit organization whose mission it is to provide mentorship and youth development through wrestling for Cleveland’s student-athletes. She also enjoys spending time onoutdoor adventures with her husband and four dogs.
